To the SFCP Community,
Taking into account the rapidly developing context with regard to COVID-19 and the high degree of uncertainty that surrounds it, we have decided that beginning Monday, March 16th, SFCP will hold all classes, programs, and committee and administrative meetings via remote technology only. All other events are cancelled for the time being. Our building at 444 Natoma will be closed during this period. Staff will be working from home, but will be fully available to support SFCP’s operations including support for use of remote technology. The best way to communicate with staff is via email. The PED and both the San Francisco and Palo Alto PPTPs have already decided to hold all classes virtually, effective immediately. Given the high level of concern about the COVID-19 virus and the evidence of widespread community transmission we believe that making this a general policy is the prudent step to take at this juncture. We will revisit this policy in early April.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we strive to adapt to this unprecedented circumstance.

The San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis was organized in 2007, combining the San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute & Society, founded in 1941, with the San Francisco Foundation for Psychoanalysis, founded in 1991. The SFCP is a not for profit organization with more than 200 practicing analysts and more than 45 candidates (psychoanalysts in training). The Center provides an extensive training program in psychoanalysis. The Center also sponsors a large, vibrant Extension Division which offers classes and seminars for continuing education credit to mental health professionals upon approval of membership. Outreach programs may also be found on our calendar. These events are free and offer no continuing education credit and are open to the general public. In addition, SFCP maintains a Low / Moderate Fee Referral Services for adults, children and adolescents as well as providing other mental health services and programs for the general community.
