Coalition for Clinical Social Work

Mentoring Program

Dear CCSW friends,

We are once again offering mentoring to early career social workers interested in using a psychodynamic and social justice lens to advance clinical practice and professional development.

In this time of Covid-19 related health risks, heightened appreciation of racial injustice, and changing workplace environments, mentoring seeks to provide an added layer of support, shared thinking, and connection.  Mentees are paired with individual social worker mentors and commit to meeting at least once a month between September and June. Geography need no longer be a barrier as meetings will take place remotely.

An application is required and due no later than July 27.  For more information and an application, please email us at [email protected]

Mentoring Program

CCSW is pleased to offer a mentoring program for early career social workers interested in advancing their clinical practice and professional development. Mentees are paired with individual mentors and meet at least once a month during the course of the academic year. The focus of mentoring varies, and can include case discussion, theoretical and contextual formulations, starting a private practice, agency practice (individual work & organizational dynamics), and career development. All participants in the program are social workers, and share an interest in integrating psychodynamic thinking into their work.

The program consists of monthly mentor-mentee meetings from September through June, as well as opportunities for program participants to meet as a group in the Fall and Spring. CCSW hosts 4 clinical evenings a year that participants in the mentoring program are encouraged to attend.

We encourage you to apply to the CCSW Mentoring Program if you:

  1. Graduated from an MSW program within the past 5 years
  2. Are interested in becoming part of the CCSW community
  3. Would benefit from mentoring by a more experienced clinical social worker
  4. Are interested in thinking psychodynamically about your practice
  5. Can commit to monthly meetings with a mentor
  6. Are able to attend two program-wide gatherings (Fall and Spring)

Application Process

Applications are accepted via the CCSW google group in July. For more information, please email the Mentoring Committee at [email protected].
