Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program (SF-PPTP)

POST-SF-PPTP OPTIONS

Ongoing Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Conference (OPPC)

The Ongoing Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Conference is a continuing education option open to all who have completed SF-PPTP coursework and are seeking ongoing community and support around their practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The SF-PPTP Ongoing Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Conference (OPPC) takes place in an all-Zoom format to make it easier for students and faculty to participate in an ongoing way. If you have completed at least 2 years of SF-PPTP classes, please consider enrolling for 2025-2026. Enrollment in OPPC will be first-come-first-served, up to a maximum of 12 trainees, so if you are interested please enroll as soon as possible to hold a spot.  Please use this link to enroll.

FORMAT

The 2025-26 OPPC will consist of four 9-week case / theory conferences, each with a different instructor.

2024-25 instructors are Abby Wolfson, PhD; Steven Goldberg, MD; Peter Goldberg, PhD; and Nancy Levine-Jordano, PhD.   Instructors for the 2025-26 OPPC will be announced late Spring or early Summer.

Each case / theory conference will begin with a group member presenting clinical material and the conference leader facilitating the group’s discussion of the case. Over time, the group and conference leader will select readings that relate to issues raised in case discussion. The leader will then guide the group in studying the readings and relating them back to the case material. The goal is to deepen and extend the theoretical understanding and clinical skills which you started to establish during SF-PPTP, and to provide a group environment for continued, supportive learning.

2025-26 CASE / THEORY CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

  • All classes will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 – 8:15 via Zoom.
  • There will be 36 meetings between September and June.
